Final Results of the Ford Global Food Drive in Spokane WA
Ford had a quest, a quest to hold the world’s largest dealer food drive…and we joined in the journey. We were proud to unite with the Ford dealerships nationwide to make a real difference in the fight against hunger.
🌎Ford’s Global Goal
As an expansion of Ford’s community initiative, Ford Building Together, Ford challenged their network of dealers to collect 400 pounds of food each to raise a total of 1,000,000 pounds. We embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.
Ford dealers worldwide hosted food drives from September 15-25, benefiting local food pantries. By selecting a local food bank, we ensured the donations would meet the needs of our community. This action demonstrates Ford’s commitment to building stronger communities and helping people move forward.
🥫Supporting 2nd Harvest Inland Northwest
We were happy to team up with 2nd Harvest Inland Northwest, a Spokane-based non-profit dedicated to ending hunger and reducing food waste throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho. 2nd Harvest nourishes hunger needs and offers long-term food security and nutrition education, such as a mobile market and Bite2Go.
🧮Wendle Ford’s Awesome Local Results
We filled the truck! We were blown away by what our team and community accomplished together. We are excited to announce that our results of the food and money raised equaled:
51,909.65 pounds of food!
This means that together we contributed over 51,000 pounds of food to local families in need. Every donation, every can of food, helped feed families to build a stronger and healthier community.
💪The Power of Teamwork
The success of the food drive wouldn’t have been possible with the teamwork and generosity of many people. Our Wendle Ford employees brought energy, enthusiasm and a bit of competitiveness to the effort, encouraging friendly competition between departments and inspiring others to join in. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all who participated. Whether you gave a can of soup or contributed funds, you helped drive real change in our community.
➡️Continuing Support
While the Ford Global Food Drive may have ended, our commitment to the community continues year-round. We believe that everyone helping neighbors is part of what makes Spokane such a great place to live and work.
We encourage all to continue the support of 2nd Harvest or other local organizations. There are many ways to help by volunteering at the facility, helping to distribute food or organize your own food drive.
🥰Thank You, Spokane!
We’re very proud of what we accomplished together. Ford’s Global Food Drive showed that when a community comes together, great things can happen. Thank you to everyone here in Spokane who joined us and those of you throughout the Inland Northwest. You all made the effort a success.
