What is FordPass?

FordPass is like your vehicle’s owner manual in one place and lots, lots more.  FordPass keeps track of your vehicle, let’s you know that it’s time for an oil change, that there is a recall notification and the fuel level.  Read on to find out why you want FordPass and how it can work for you.

What is the FordPass App?

To utilize all that FordPass offers, you want to get the FordPass app.  This way you can access your vehicle information right from your smartphone.  All the tools you need to manage your vehicle will be in the palm of your hand.  Some of what you will be able to do on the app:

• Lock/unlock your vehicle
• Remote start/stop your vehicle
• Receive an alert when service is needed
• Receive an alert for a recall notification
• Schedule service at your favorite Ford dealer
• View your vehicle service history
• Find the location of the vehicle
• Fuel level
• Search for available parking at your destination and pay the charges from your phone
• Request Roadside Assistance
• If financing through Ford Credit, manage your account

For many of these features to work, your vehicle needs to be equipped with FordPass Connect.

What is FordPass Connect?

The FordPass Connect is a modem that is installed within the vehicle.  It connects the car to the internet allowing for various functions to operate on the FordPass app.

How Do I Activate FordPass?

1. Download the FordPass app from the App Store or Google Play store and set up your account.
2. Make sure your car is turned off.
3. On the app, select Add to add your vehicle.
4. Scan or type in your VIN.
5. Create a Name for your vehicle.
6. Select Activate Vehicle.
7. Start your vehicle and select Allow on the in-vehicle pop-up screen. 

What is FordPass Rewards?

Are you signed up with Pizza Hut or Dairy Queen for their rewards program?  You buy a pizza, you earn points and then you can use them to get a discount or even a free pizza down the road.  FordPass is a rewards program offered by Ford.  When you get service done or make purchases at a participating Ford dealership, you earn points that you can use for future service or even toward the purchase of another Ford!

How Do I Earn FordPass Reward Points?

Every time you purchase or lease a new Ford, have your vehicle serviced or make purchases using your FordPass Rewards VISA card, you will earn reward points.  That’s a lot of rewards!

Purchase or lease a vehicle, earn these points:

• Diesel – 75,000
• Gas – 42,000
• Battery electric – 22,000 and 250 kWh of complimentary charging on Electrify America fast charging stations
• FordBlue Advantage – up to 22,000

Service your car:

Whenever you have your vehicle serviced at a participating dealership, you can earn 10 FordPass points for each dollar spent.  For example, if you pay $49.95 for an oil change, 500 points would be awarded.  Get an oil change, tires rotated or brakes serviced…earn points!

FordPass Rewards VISA card:

You can get 10% back in points when you use your FordPass Rewards VISA card.  That’s 5% back in points on Ford dealership purchases plus another 5% back in points with FordPass Rewards.  Plus, there is no annual fee and you can earn points when you use your card for gas purchases, auto insurance, parking and more.  To get all the details and see additional benefits you can get with the FordPass Rewards VISA card check out FordPass Reward VISA.

Get Even More Rewards!

It’s the card that keeps on giving.  Ford rewards their most loyal customers with bronze, silver and blue levels.

Bronze: General membership.  Ford service-10 points per dollar spent.

Silver: Mid tier.  One complimentary Ford pickup and delivery visit; Ford service-10 points per dollar spent plus 5% bonus points; exclusive partner offers; increased earning opportunities. 

Blue: Top tier.  Unlimited Ford pickup and delivery visits; Ford service-10 points per dollar spent plus 10% bonus points; most generous partner offers; highest earning rates. 

To move up to high tier levels, you need to earn milestones.  These are different from the points you earn as a FordPass Rewards member.  Milestones are awarded for qualifying activities you already do such as taking your vehicle in for service or purchasing a new Ford.  The more of these activities you do, the faster you move up. 

To move up to the silver tier, you need to earn 120 milestones.  The blue tier requires 200 milestones.

How Do I Redeem FordPass Rewards?

It’s easy to redeem your FordPass rewards.  Purchasing a new car?  Let the dealer know you want to use points to help with the purchase price.  When you get service done at a participating Ford dealer, let them know that you want to redeem your points.  They will determine what you can get for the service performed.  Buying accessories to personalize your vehicle?  Use your points to help with the purchase.  When picking up the parts, let the cashier know you’d like to use points.  With your member I.D., the cashier can quickly and easily look up your account and apply your points to discount your purchase price. 

FordPass has so much to offer.  It lets you stay connected and in control.  Be prepared with the ability to check your fuel and oil levels.  Forgot to lock your car door?  Do it from the app.  Schedule a service if you need it before a trip while earning FordPass Reward points along the way.  It doesn’t matter whether you are in downtown Spokane or over in Coeur d’Alene; your FordPass is with your for the ride.

Q: What does FordPass cost?

A: FordPass app is free!  The remote features of the app are complimentary.

Q. Do FordPass Reward points expire?

A. Yes.  If you have not earned points, used points or fulfilled a reward earned through FordPass Rewards for 365 consecutive calendar days, the points will expire. 

Q. Do milestones expire?

A. Yes.  Vehicle purchase milestones last for three years.  All other milestones expire each calendar year. 

Q: Can I sign up for FordPass Rewards without an email address?

A: No.  You need an email address to sign up for FordPass Rewards.

Q: Do I need to own a Ford to get FordPass Rewards?

A: No!  You can enjoy the benefits without owning a Ford.  Points are associated with your account, not a vehicle.

Q: Can I redeem my points at any participating dealer?

A: Yes.  You can use your points at any participating dealer.

Q: Is there a limit to how many points I can earn?

A: No.  You can earn as many points as you want!

Q: How can I see how many points I have?

A: You can view your points when logged into your account on the the FordPass app.  Look under the account tab for the balance.  Also, your dealer can look up the balance for you.

Q: Which vehicles have FordPass Connect?

A: 2017 MY Availability: Escape, Fusion, Fusion Fusion Hybrid, F-150, GT (supercar).  2018 MY Availability: EcoSport, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Mustang.  2019 MY Availability: EcoSport, Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Fusion, Mustang, Ranger, Super Duty, Transit Connect.  2020 MY and New Availability: all vehicles are eligible, but the modem equipment is based on your vehicle’s trim level.
